The Etape du Tour de France is the most famous sportive in the world. This is your chance to ride the queen stage of the Tour de France and in 2020 this brings us to Nice. A break from the usual Alps or Pyrenees stages, this is an amazing route highlighting some of the best climbs in one of our favourite regions in the world for riding.
The route is long for an Etape at 177km with three long climbs. The overall elevation is similar to 2016 & 17 but slightly down on the last two years.
Your chance to race the most famous sportive in the world over the Queen's stage of the most famous cycling race in the world - the Tour de France. In 2020 the route takes us to Nice for a fascinating route in the Alpes-Maritime. With "only" 3570m of elevation this is a rare year the Etape is suitable for most types of rider.

The Etape du Tour 2020 route takes us to Nice & the Alpes-Maritimes for some incredible riding. A long route with two big Alpine climbs before a circuit finish in Nice.
From Nice to Nice
An early start on the med. The start out of Nice will be quick followed by a leg softening section to the climbs. The first climb, the Col de la Colmaine is 16km at 6% and is quickly followed by the Col de Turini, 15km at 7% - as big a one two punch as most things you get in the Alps or Pyrenees. After a quick descent back into Nice we hit the Col d'Eze before rolling back into Nice for the finish.
Getting to Etape du Tour
Fly in and out of Nice. We have three collections on Friday and three dropoffs on Monday. Please arrange flights to meet one of these.

Our base for the weekend is the excellent 4* Brice Garden Hotel. Situated in central Nice close to the race start and finish, the hotel has air conditioned rooms in comfy surroundings.

A spacious 4 star hotel in central Nice. There is a nice restaurant in the flower garden, a perfect place to relax pre ride. Bikes are stored in a meeting room where our mechanic is on hand to work on any issues. There is a good early breakfast on the morning of the Etape.
